WELCOME

It's a new start and a new day. You're strangely curious about a compelling and controversial figure, Jesus. You might have never counted yourself open to the guy (or much less being grouped with his followers!). But something is different. Something has led you here. And now you aren't sure precisely how or why, but you're Just Pondering Jesus.

This is a blog I have created for several reasons. The idea is not to quarrel with skeptics, not to get combative with naysayers or try to convince a stonewall. Instead this blog is specifically for anyone who might sense that God is drawing them closer to Himself. They wouldn't call themselves Christians just yet, but until now they would never have even considered it. If that's you, welcome!

I can't guarantee how often I will post or what will be discussed (let the questions begin!), but I know that it will be fruitful and productive, encouraging and inspiring. Join us.

The Purpose of This Blog

You don't have to be a religious person to read this blog. You don't even have to be certain that you believe what you've heard the Bible teaches. In fact, there aren't too many rules at all about this blog. The only requirement is that we be honest and civil. I'm not trying to sway anyone...at least not here at the outset. I am just aiming for authenticity, for honest and respectful dialogue.

You might read blogs about Jesus on this site. You might read blogs about faith. You might read blogs about pondering. In general, this blog is for those who might be on the fence. If you are truly wrestling with this Jesus character you read about in the scriptures, you are welcome here. If you are unwilling to be civil, if you're out for a debate or a fight, or if you are unable to tolerate those who differ with you, this blog is specifically NOT for you.

I'm definitely no expert. But I've been around some and can point you to still others. If you think this blog might be for you, then join the discussion. After all, questions about Jesus could be the most important questions you've ever asked.
